It’s been a while since I’ve given updates. The thing is, after coming back from vacations, I haven’t really stopped to take a breath. Which is a good thing, I guess. Anyway, here are some update of what I’ve been up to and what I’m now preparing:
ALL CAPS Rotterdam — Last week
Last week I’ve had the opportunity to run two screenprinting workshops (one for artists and another for children) alongside Arjan Elenbaas during ALL CAPS festival in Rotterdam. Previously called POW! WOW! Rotterdam, ALL CAPS brought a bunch of street art(of all forms and mediums) to Rotterdam’s Feijenoord district. Check the ALL CAPS 2022 video recap here to get a feeling for what the festival was like.
Paste-Up Festival Naples — 17-18th September
While in still in Portugal I managed to send some screenprinted paste-ups I made of this print to a Paste-up festival in Naples. I’ve never participated in one of these but the idea is simple: Artists from all over the world send stickers and posters to an address, the organisations secures a space and pastes the work so people can enjoy a collage of different artworks from all over the place. It will happen this weekend (17-18th September) so keep an eye on their instagram to see how the final wall will look (or visit it if you are in Naples)! This is an image from a previous edition:
Loops Market Rotterdam — 17th September
This Saturday I’m going to be selling some of my work and doing some live printing during Loops flea market at Café Bakeliet from 14h-19h (the party continues until 2h). Feels good to come back to Loops, as the first edition was also the first time I participated in a market and showcased my work to the public (at the time mostly linocut prints).
Layered Realities Expo — 7-9th October
And now for the most important update! After the success of the “Outside Looking In” expo with the Mesh Print Club, We’ve been busy setting up our next one: Layered Realities. This time it will be a photo-based screenprinting exhibition at the Huis van de Fotografie at Westersingel 101. It’s a beautiful building right in the heart of Rotterdam. It will be 🔥 so if you are around, save the date!
PS. I don’t want to give away what I will bring to the expo yet but I’ll just say that I’m reviving an old concept and bringing it back to life through a fresh pair of lenses. 🟥 🟦
